The most affordable 4K graphics card for productivity

Hello, everyone!

I'm searching for the cheapest graphics card that can handle a 4K 60Hz monitor.
My usual tasks for this rig will be web, coding, CPU-computing and a bit of watching youtube, so 4K (or any other) gaming is a non-factor.

By now, I stopped at NVIDIA GTX 900 series low-end part, but I'm not sure if it will be able to handle 4K or if it is an optimal choice regarding performance/$ in these particular circumstances.

Also, I'd rather prefer an AMD card because I'm running Linux and AMD has a WAY better support, but I don't know a lot about AMD graphics to make a good choice :)

The other components, just in case:
- AMD Ryzen 7 1700
- 16 GB dual-channel DDR4
- MSI X370 Gaming Plus

Thanks!

Realistically, if all you need is DisplayPort, a used 750 Ti or a used HD 7850/R7 265/370 would serve you fine.

If you prefer new (or through HDMI), a GTX 1050 or an RX 560 is there, just in case you need any real sort of GPU grunt.

4k wasn't really a thing yet or with the RX cards, they were aiming for being more budget friendly.

Nevermind gaming is not a factor, I would go with like an RX in your price range.

All RX cards that are from the Polaris chain support 2160p at 60Hz through DisplayPort and HDMI.

Any GPU from GCN 1 onwards supports 2160p at 60Hz through DisplayPort and 2160p at 30Hz through HDMI.

So I can just throw in a used HD7770 and it should be OK?
