I'm simply wanting to know what would be deemed safe when OC my cpu. I want it to last a long time if that says anything, so I don't want anything insane. Just something. I currently have it at 3.7ghz. Says the average temp is 49 degrees Celsius, is that normal because I have no clue if it is. Build is in my signature to give u an idea of what I'd need.

There is no "safe" overclock. All void your warranty. All can go wrong. All are "out of specs".

That said, it is has been highlighted that 1,35V is pretty much extremely safe for Ryzen. Up to 1,4V which is the maximum that some manifacturer have suggested for "long term overlock". But again, it's all about lottery. I personally run my 1700 at 1,375V at 3,9Ghz while the maximum I could achieve was 4,1 at 1,4V. I feel safer this way, but it might break tomorrow without warning even after months of stability.

It's safe as long as the temp is fine, and its not about the speed but rather the voltage, so you can try to get it to run as fast as possible at a voltage of 1.4, but 1.45 is fine aswell if your cooling is good. You wont get any higher than 4GHz tho, but 3.9 should be doable, and when you found a speed you can decrease voltage until it becomes unstable.

"Here is some advice that might have gotten lost somewhere along the way in your life.

#1. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.
