PC Randomly Shutting Off.

Go to solution Solved by Mothership,

Turning off fast startup has solved my issues.

Operating System

Windows 10 Note: Could be coincidence but all these shut down's came after Fall Creators Update.

Computer Specs (PSU, GPU, CPU, RAM, Motherboard)

AMD A10-7850k CPU, Hyper 212 Evo Cooler8gb ddr3 1600mhz crucial ram Asus A88XM-plus Motherboard GTX 1050 Ti Evga 500b1 PSU A cheap 400w Sparkle PSU 1TB Western Digital Blue HDD

Description of problem

My computer has been randomly shutting off recently. So far it has shut off about 9 times while browsing the internet and only 1 time while playing League of Legends. It has not shut off while idle yet. When it shuts off it is a complete loss of power, no warnings at all. No lag just 1 second there is power the next, nothing. After about 5 seconds of being off the PC turns back on as if nothing ever happened. No warnings of power loss, nothing.

No

Cause/Steps to recreate the issue

Just daily usage of my computer, I've tried stress tests and they haven't caused it yet. (Although I only ran them for an hour or so)It also seems that relatively low power situations are when it shuts off

What I've tried so far to resolve the issue

Almost everything, while using my EVGA 500w B1 I unplugged everything from the mobo, etc. and plugged it back in. I changed my power bar, the outlet I was using. A whole different outlet on the other side of my desk. I've tried driver updates. Just last night I found my old cheap 400w sparkle power supply, so I swapped it in, as well as cleaning some dust off fans etc. I reseated the graphics card, unplugged and replugged in SATA to HDD. Even after this the problem still persists. As far as CPU temperatures go, APU's have weird readings, and typically read way off in software. But bios shows about 35c-ish when I enter it after the random power loss. I'm lost. I thought maybe the power reset plug was the problem, nope it wasn't it either.

Could it be a potential overheating issue? Make sure you clean out all your fans. I dont know how long ago you got your CPU but it might be a good idea to replace the thermal compound if its been more than 2-3 years.

Happy to help. Also have a look at Event Viewer to check for any critical errors.

get a small hdd and install creators update in there and see if the problem exist.

your problem may not be hardware problem.

creators update messed up my pc yesterday and the only solution was to do fresh install.
