Headphone advice

Hello all,

I've been clicking around the web for a while and simply can't really decide what new headphones to get.

Lets start with what I have and what I do:

I am currently using the Siberia v2 Frost blue. I find these quite comfortable and I simply have no experience with better headphones. I also have a seperate mic, so I don't need that on the headphone.

What do I do? Besides procrastinating I tend to play game MMOs and aRPGs mostly, listen to music through spotify and/or youtube (The High Kings) and also watching movies (streamed and otherwise).

I've got the opportunity to buy a pair of Sony MDR-1A (106 euro), AKG 7xx (190 euro) or something else entirely. I have no DAC or AMP and will most likely not buy those.

I'm trying to keep the costs under 200 euro.

If you can handle having open back headphones the K7XX will be all you need for a long time consider it an investment.. They are very comfortable, based off expensive $500.00+ pair of headphones, open back for great positional audio and an excellent music listening experience.

Another option would be the Sennheiser HD 598 Closed back that is if you want a closed back headphone.. Currently 160.00$ USD (140-150$ Euro) See HERE .

Personally if you don't plan on using an AMP / DAC I would get the K7XX and not think about headphones for a long time and in the future if you want some more clarity in your music you could always purchase a small AMP+DAC combo unit and get a whole new listening experience with those headphones. Checkout SMSL M3 & FX Audio X6.

Edit: Coming from the Siberia headset/headphones anything in this 150.00$ + class will blow you away you will never go back to gaming headsets/headphones.. Enjoy!
