My phone won't unlock! Help!

Hello!

 

So as the title says, my phone won't unlock. The phone is Nexus 5X.

What I did was I went to the SIM card lock settings and changed the password, and when I type the new password on lock screen, it says that it's incorrect. The only thing that might have happened is that I had typed the new password wrong on both two times... But I don't think that's it what happened, but it's the only thing that I can think of... Is there any other methods to unlock my phone? I have do have my finger print saved, but it won't let me use it, I need to put the password.

So did you change your SIM card code or did you set a password?

I dont know any solutions but if you cant find anything check if you can plug it into your pc and get anything you can off it. And then the sad part, factory wiping it.

@Cyberspirit I don't actually know... I went to the SIM card Lock settings and in there I chose the Lock SIM card opinion and changed the password/SIM card code from the default one to the new one

Remove your SIM card and see if you can get in.

Well if you have anything super important on your phone then you should try to unlock it a couple more times and hope that you get the password right.

If you don't have anything important on there then you can just get into recovery and reset your phone but this WILL erase all your data stored on the phone.

Try your old password genius. You changed your sim pin, which is only asked after you restart, and is used to unlock the sim card itself, not the phone. The phone pin is a separate entity.

Try the phone pin, not sim pin.

Omg i'm so dumb.... I was enter my PIN code on my lock screen... Of course it doesn't work then... Everything is working now, thank you to you all for trying to help me!

At least you didn't lose any data so, that's great

I'd strongly suggest making a backup of your phone or at least the important data on there regularly.
