Looking for <$100 open-ear headphone/headset.

DotoreN

I currently own the plantronics gamecom 780 and I personally love this headset, but one of the earcups died and I have to replace it. Unfortunately the 780 or 788 aren't sold anymore, so I wanted to buy the gamescom 388 in the hope it would be the same sound quality, but unfortunately for me.. they were horrible.

A lot of people recommend me to buy the Hyperx Cloud headset, but I still want to hear myself talk and my surroundings whenever i'm gaming. I believe the Qpad-85 is supposedly an open-ear headset similar to the hyperx cloud series, but i'm not sure if it has great sound quality.

Does someone have any recommendations for me? I don't mind buying a ~100euro headphone and buy a modmic, aslong as it has good sound quality.

Thank you!

Philips SHP9500 + vmoda boompro gets my vote. Great combo, no gaming headset can match its performance sound quality wise.

I heard Qpad also had the same headset maker as HyperX clouds, but didn't knew they were true or not. Where as HyperX Cloud core - 1 & 2 are made by Takstar on the base of Pro 80 with modified drivers. However the new Cloud Alpha are less tweaked to sound more like the Pro 80 as of what i heard.
