Hello so I received my motherboard a week or two ago and installed it to the best of my ability, and today I got time to actually try to turn it on and it didnt post the first time, the monitor didn't turn on, neither did my peripherals, but the mobo and gpu lights, so did my fan lights. Basically everything inside the case worked, but it turned on and off byitself every few seconds.

CPU - i7-4790k

GPU - MSI 980 Ti

Here's a list of steps to run through to find problems. (link)

I'd guess that the problem may be CPU power, but with your details that may not be as likely.

I'd guess that the problem may be CPU power - but with what you've said that may not be as likely.

The only change I've had is the motherboard replacement I received, I dont know if that's the issue or maybe I did something wrong

Other things that it may be are:

  • seating of RAM or GPU (even perhaps CPU, but I doubt it)
  • RAM is in the wrong slot (if you haven't filled all of 'em up)
  • CPU Cooler not plugged into right header (not very likely)

I doubt its gpu or cpu, and i have all ram using the space. and the cpu cooler is seated correctly so if I had to take a guess i would say maybe its a mistake I made on the bottom cables, besides that I don't know

have you even attempted to do any troubleshooting such as posting with no drives installed? because i can see your sata cables are still plugged in

Yes upon further inspection of my cpu seating I can see that it was seated properly, but once I removed it to reapply new thermal paste I saw like wierd pins(I don't know how to explain it) but if I rub my finger with no pressure, against the pins they feel normal and a few feel like they stick out more than the rest. I think u can kinda see it towards the bottom right

Yeah. 3 of those pins look like they may be bent (Two in the bottom left and one bottom center) I'd guess that they're all data pins rather than power or ground due to them not being around the edge (I'm pretty sure that's where ground pins normally are).

Damn, unlucky. Well I've let MSI RMA Dep know about the bent pins, if they can't do anything I guess Ill fix it myself.
