So I was playing a game no overclockinng and I wasn’t straining my pc at all either (was an old game) when the pc shits off. Ok I say let me restart it everything goes well for about 3 seconds until I see a big spark from inside my case in the small grate I have by my gpu, I unplug the computer take out the gpu and realize oh shit I can use it even now because my gpu is my only display output so it struggled to start up flickering my keyboard and mouse 3-4 times before staying steady however no display even after putting my gpu back in. How do I know if it’s my power supply or my graphics card? Please help thank you.

Current PC Specs?

Does PC boot with integrated graphics/other graphics card?

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

I have gtx 950 and I’m not sure what you mean by boot with interstates graphics card

Full PC specs. PSU (power supply) wattage and model, CPU, motherboard model, ram, storage...give us the works.

If something is sparking, that's never a good sign. Is it dusty? How well ventilated is the system? How long has the system been running fine for you? Dust can conduct electricity and cause shortouts.

Does your motherboard have a VGA or HDMI or DVI connection? You could run the PC from the graphics chip built into the CPU/motherboard if it has one

Well sounds like a PSU failure from looking into spec sheets on G3-710s, though most I can find have newer 10xx series cards. The PSU should handle the GTX 950 just fine. From reading about the flickering peripherals you mentioned, PSU could be shot or dying.

Either way, sparks are a bad sign and I would get it serviced professionally before using it very much. Last thing you'd want is for the PSU to actually be bad and lose more than just a PC

As of now there is no using the computer it’s effectively a paper weight. That’s the plan to get it serviced however I have a feeling that more than just the gpu died and I’m worried about it given getting parts replaced is a serious issue for me
