First Build! Suggestions Welcome

Hey everyone, first time posting and looking to build my first PC I'm my goal is to stick as close to 1100$ US as possible. Mainly gaming and hoping to upgrade from my laptop I use for school. I don't plan on overclocking for now but might be more interested in the future.

The goal was to make this look just as good as it performed. Thanks everyone in advance.

Undercuts your budget, ssd and a 1070ti.

add a case fan of your choice.

Looks great. I've seen a lot of recommendation on 240+ SSDs would a 120 be enough for the OS?

NOOOOOOO why would you put a msi motherboard with ryzen I think I'm gonna die

AHHHHHH WHAT theres so many problems first of all you have a 500w psu, second of all, the 8400 is bs with a z370 motherboard so ryzen is a better choice here.  3rd, 250gb is not a whole lot of storage, so maybe op, get this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fnRCf8

Try using the PSU Tier List!

if you're using a more power hungry GPU(Vega after overclocking or maybe a 1080ti) for a 1070ti and 1600 450w is enough.

If Vega 56 was an option would you consider that a reasonable contender against 1070 ti, if bought for 400-420?

it performs better than the 1070 but not the 1070ti, if you can find it for 1070 prices then I'd consider it.

Not that I'm the best PC builder (I've never built one) but it may be a good idea to add an m.2 drive, even a small 80 - 160 gig one to store your OS on so that you boot faster. It will cost a bit more so and is completely optional, but it will make your system feel a bit more snappy.

I think I'm going to cut my cost for my PC so i can update some peripherals. Plus as a casual gamer I can save a little money on the PC as a whole and go with a RX 580. Its price is significantly less than the 1070 or 1070 ti and i don't even own a monitor that can 4k game. let me know what y'all think about this.

This next option includes windows in the price since I'd have to get that too.
