Hey guys, good afternoon

i am going to be upgrading my build, i right now have it like his: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JQkfJV;

My idea was to:

-Double the ram;

-new graphics card (still deciding wether it would be nvidia gtx 1070, gtx 1070ti or gtx 1080 (haven't decided which one yet);

- the thing i'm not sure about, do i need to upgrade my power supply? is 650W enough for this build? even if i get the 1080 one?

-also, will it all be compatible? like, fit in my case?

Thanks for your help.

That'll be plenty! The 1080ti and that arrangement would ALSO be acceptable! You're all good friend!

Thanks mate ^^

Oh and also, is it "necessary" these days to upgrade my ram to ddr4 ??

Not a requirement but It allows faster sticks and I believe shorter timings.  2400mhz for ddr3 is top of the line but it's probably cheap now.

Not possible.

DDR4 is not compatible with a DDR3 board.

i know i know, was just thinking if i should also switch them

That would involve a new board and processor which I wouldn't say is worth it from what you've got now :)

You need a board that can take DDR4 memory and in order to get that you'll need at least an x99, H110, B150, Z170 or up motherboard on the Intel side, or a A320 and up board for Ryzen from the AMD side. Obviously that's not all the combinations of boards but it should paint the picture :)

If you're going to be building from scratch, I definitely would, however that will necessitate a new CPU and board. If you're just upgrading and staying on that CPU and motherboard platform, then DDR3 is fine!
