Threadripper defect in the chip?

I wouldn't risk it if you just bought it, go for warranty.

Return it. Those are decoupling capacitors and resistors. The CPU may work without them but could be unstable at certain frequencies, it's not worth risking random errors.


A shop that repairs phones could in theory solder that component properly but if the cpu won't work for some reason, they may then refuse to refund your purchase or replace your cpu.
