Gtx 1080 power

Tland98

I currently am running a gtx 780 and just ordered a gtx 1080. i just realized my current card has a 6 pin and an 8 pin port while the gtx 1080 only has one 8 pin port. do i just plug the 8 pin in and call it a day or do i need an adapter so the 14 pins converge into one. I have an 875 watt psu so im good on power.

Just plug in the 8P connector and call it a day.

Even if you had an adapter the power limiting resistor would still govern the power the card can use, plus whatever the BIOS says.

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III
