On Black Friday I purchased a Surface Pro 4 but only the 128GB model, I was thinking of buying a micro sd card to store files on for college and maybe one or two programs that are not frequently used, any suggestions on what card I should go with? I also need it to be on the cheaper side, ideally under £50 (don't really care too much for capacity as long as it's over 64Gbs).

You could've got a 200GB microSD for that the other day. Unfortunately gone back to regular price https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter-Performance/dp/B073JY5T7T/

There's this 128GB model for £31-ish https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Ultra-MicroSDHC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B010Q57S62/

TBH, if I were looking for one now I would probably get an m.2 drive and a caddy instead, it's a bit more money but you could get a 128GB m.2 drive and a caddy.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ADATA-SU800-M-2-128GB-ASU800NS38-128GT-C/dp/B01M9K0N8I/

And   https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0711MTKNM/

Comes to about £65 total, but much higher transfer speeds, does depend on a USB port being available though, so not sure if that's available on the surface pro?

If I was to get an M.2 drive I'd probably take apart the surface and replace it with a bigger one, but for now an SD card would be really convenient as I can put it in the slot have it out of the way, yet still easily transfer between PC's without uploading to OneDrive.

Edit: But the case for the M.2 is something I really need to look into, those read/write speeds would be awesome.

Yeah, it's just a thought... it's what I would do personally, it's easier and quicker then to transfer files to is all. I get fed up with SD cards TBH, it's OK if you keep them IN devices, but they are a pain in the arse if you want to transfer stuff to it with your PC or whatever... plus they're easier to lose/forget where you put them :(

Yeah, I guess the M.2 would be smarter in the long run.

No, don't feel like you have to at all. MicroSD cards are good for what they are meant for, which is in device storage, and if you plan on just keeping it in there then it should be fine. I just wanted to give you options is all :)
