Yes, I bought it from store

First, unplug the USB and check if it still spits out the corrupted mbr error. If it is, you're not booting your USB properly. And if you find out, that it actually the USB that has issue, one way of doing it is sending the usb in for a replacement, but if you're out of time and don't care and you also have the product key available somewhere, you can also download the windows image from other sources (doesn't necessary have to be the windows tool) and install it via tools that also work on apple. https://alternativeto.net/software/rufus/?platform=mac is one of them. If you still want to do it the "proper way", just download the OS again with the tool once you've installed windows via the mac copy and use the media creation tool on a different usb.

As soon as my pc boots into the official windows 10 home install USB, I get an error message Bootmgr is corrupted.

By official windows 10 home install usb, you mean you bought the USB with windows on them or you installed a official image to the usb?

Try a different image/USB drive... I don't like the windows USB maker, I prefer Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

Download the image again if you need to... ask a friend if you have no PC to do this with ATM.

I actually bought physical copy of Windows with the USB in the box. The only other pc I have access to is a MacBook Air

Ahh I see, in that case make sure you're plugged into the rear i/o would be my suggestion, if you already are, then try USB 2 ports if you have them... if that still doesn't work get in touch with where you bought it from for a refund as it's most likely broken. While you're getting refunded/replaced you could download the windows iso and install it to a spare 8GB+ USB drive if you have one... should be instructions for mac too IIRC. Download Windows 10
