Motherboard Help

Hi!

 

As far as hardware for building a new computer goes, I know what to look for in CPUs, GPUs, RAM, drives, network adaptors... all the fun stuff. 

 

Motherboards on the other hand... those are a bit lost on me. I’m never really sure what to look for.

 

Simply put: What do I want in my motherboard? What specs do I want to look out for?

Good VRM, good bios support and good features (quality audio, big IO)

You should look for motherboards with a big IO (with at least 6 USB 2 audio and Lan ports) and support for M.2

VRM performance depending on what CPU you want, audio codec, I/O ports, number of PCIE slots.

 

It would be incredibly helpful if you gave a use case, CPU, and size for what you're trying to do
