Upgrade or not?

Taisteluporkkana

So, I was thinking if it is to upgrade my gpu or build new full system.

So here are my parts: amd fx-8350 @4.4GHz, amd r9 280x windforce edition, 600w psu, 12gigs of ddr3 and few hdd´s.

Yes, I know, my hdd´s aren´t so fast but i dont care, just want that stable full hd 60 fps gameplay. I was thinking about nvidias gtx 1060, would it be enough?

the performance of the Gtx 1060 is only slightly better than a r9 280x. If you want a Nvidia gpu defiantly go the gtx 1070 or 1070ti at least, otherwise you wont see a huge increase in performance.

main system build --> i7-7700K (at 5.0 ghz), MSI Z270 SLI Motherboard, corsair vengeance lpx 8gb ddr4 2666mhz,  costume liquid cooling loop with 360 mm radiator on CPU, GTX 1080 gigabyte windforce OC, 1TB WD drive, 128 gb samsung nvme m.2, EVGA 850 watt semi modular power supply, CM storm stryker case (ya not ideal for costume loop), VIOTEK GN34C 34 inch curved monitor <----

Spoiler

A 1060 is perfect for 1080p60. No need at all for a 1070ti, but you could possibly make a case for a 1070. The 1060 is a pretty good bit better than the 280x while consuming a hell of a lot less power... they're not really close in performance...

The 280x however is still a decent card and I would suggest waiting for Volta for a bigger upgrade at the same price or the same upgrade at a nicer price

That's an F in the profile pic

you'll get a lot more out of upgrading your CPU than the GPU.

But first, let's talk about parallel universes.
