I built a new pc today which includes a ryzen 7 1700, Vega 64, msi gaming plus x370, 16gb of ram, and an 850 watt psu. I've set it all up and when I boot it with the Vega 64 I get a black screen. The card turns on and the fan starts moving but nothing ever comes on screen. I put my gtx 1060 in and it starts up. I've never built a pc that didn't have onboard video so I'm not sure how to put the drivers on if that's what's causing it to do nothing.

So it sounds like it's not posting with the Vega 64 alone. No BIOS screen comes up when you plug in through the VEGA? Are both cards installed when this happens?

Daily Driver:

CPU - Dual X5670 | GPU - GTX 750 Ti | CASE - HP DL380 G7 | RAM - 128GB Samsung 1366 DDR3 ECC | STORAGE - 8 x 146GB 15K RPM HDD

Work Horse:

It only posts when the 1060 is in. I do one card at a time. The weird thing is that my mouse and keyboard light up like it's on. They seem to only light up once the system posts. You are right that no bios screen or anything comes up with the vega

It doesn't sound so much of a driver problem so much as a BIOS issue..... Maybe your BIOS isn't detecting the Vega 64 at all, so when you boot without the 1060, it doesn't post because no graphics card is detected. Try seating both, and see if it posts with both cards.

drivers only help the card get its maximum performance, did you happen to buy it used
