mother board

A lot can be said about upgrading a motherboard.  Do you plan on keeping the other parts of your system such as the cpu, ram, gpu, pse, etc.?  You didn't say what your current system or mobo was so it's a little hard to say what your options are.  If you currently have an Intel system, then we need to know what you're currently running so that we can come up with some options and if you are currently running an AMD system, then that information would also be needed to determine what sort of options you have as to upgrading your current cpu or a completely new upgrade such as going with a Ryzen mobo that would also include upgrading the cpu and ram.  So, currently options are pretty much in the open since we don't know what your have.

Stick with Asus, basically anything 1151 - Z270 on this page.
