Hi guys and gals,

I'm a first time builder and spent some time creating a build on pcpartpicker.com which I plan on buying. Now before I buy I would like to have it reviewed by experienced builders to see if and where I went wrong. If you are a good samaritan who is willing to extend a helping hand, please take a look at the build and check for possible errors (being something being too expensive or unnecessary, or incompatibility, or maybe choosing a different component because some other reason, etc.). Now I must add that I might buy a better graphics card in the future (not sure which one) and I'm not sure what to do with the power supply.

Thank you in advance!

Ken

Assuming this is for gaming and general purpose computing. I agree with thom on the SSD. Also, put some crazy filters on your case intakes because tobacco smoke will destroy your electronics. Also ruins resale value and in some cases, your warranty.

Switch out the CPU cooler for a 212 EVO or something with front to back cooling. That one is great for cooling VRMs or for a low-profile config but you're not going to need either of those.

You should try to make it more balenced, go for an i5 and upgrade to a 1060 6gb or 1070

also try to get a PSU thats a bit better than that

It for gaming and streaming the gameplay, you think a i5 would still do?

Use the stock cooler, it's fine for ~3,8 GHz. For $50 more, you could get the 1070 Ti, for ~25% better performance. Or for $90 more, you could get the 1700, for better streaming.

Thank you! But I would like to stick to Intel and I think 430 for a graphics card is a little too much for now
