i3 or i5???

Hi everyone. Looking forward to

- i3 8100 gtx 1060 6gb

- i5 8400 gtx 1060 3gb

Which one is the best for me? Im mainly play some popular onl game (Csgo, ow, pubg,...etc) with my 144hz monitor . Also  i may record, stream 720@60hz with some fps games and other purpose is render video???

Well since you are gonna do some streaming and rendering the 8400 will do a better job however ryzen 5 1600 will do even better.

But since it has lower IPC it will perform worse for gaming but will be much faster for rendering and multi tasking.

And it may be cheaper than the i5, letting him go for the 1060 6GB. And as for gaming, it's just as good as the i5 is most games, and all the games he's playing are pretty light so he should be gtg. My Xeon X5675 at stock is between an R5 1500X and 1600, and it ran CS:GO at 200+ fps (I have a 980 Ti though, but 144fps should be ezpz for a 1060) on ultra. So no problems there.

If those are your two options, I'd go with the i5 any day of the week. Since you did bring up recording and streaming, I'd look into something on the Red team, like a R5 1600.

Yes i think people tend to exaggerated when talking about Ryzen for gaming.

If its Ryzen 3 1200 then maybe they are right but Ryzen 5. no its more than capable in fact it can drive most games above 60fps and you'll start to get diminishing returns above 80fps anyway as your eyes wont be really able to notice (according to studies and science)

 

I wish i could build a pc with a xeon cpu cause they are cheap in here but sadly i dont have the knowledge for it.

I dont know anything about server or workstation.

But whatever my faithful i3 6100+970 referrence still able to satisfy my needs even with 3.5 of vram (darn u nvidia)

I might ask u a question and annoy u to death with it one day.

But for now i'd stick with my RIG cause i dont have a job just yet and convincing my parents to give me a money for that is a mission impossible so (T^T)
