Hi guys.

I just adquire a new rx 570 strix gpu, and I would like to know if is there any advantage of buy a second one to make a crossfire build.

Does my i5 4570 support it? Can I gain more fps in ultra settings even in 4k?

What is the difference between crossfire and crossfireX?

Thanks.

Hi!

You can see some performance increases ranging from 60% to 90% but also performance decreases depending on the title.

I myself have a crossfire setup of 3x R9 280x and It is a good experience.

In all cases though, i think it is only worth it if you can find a cheap second hand RX570 as going for a single stronger GPU is always the best choice. It has less issues like drivers and micro-stutters to name a few.

To give you an example of problems you might run in to with dual graphics:

I like to play some GTA5 it runs butter smooth on my crossfire setup.

However, shadows start flickering randomly and it gets soo enjoying that i rather don't play it with crossfire enabled.

Thanks Ansuex

I just bought this in the black friday, brand new, and I think I will use it single for a couple of months or so, so I can have enought time to save for a new one, currently I play in a 3d ps display in full hd, and own a 4k lg tv, so I want to try both experiences.

One great single card is always better than two okay ones. If you really want more performance, sell the RX card and get a 1070/vega 56 or higher.

Not to mention that crossfire support in games and drivers is absolutely horrible.

Please quote people in the future otherwise, we can't see your answer.

I'd hold off and enjoy the 570.

The GTX 1060 3gb outperforms the RX570 though... regardless you should never crossfire or SLI low end cards, always aim for the best single card you can get.

I know that, but some how I went for the 4g of vram, thinking about future games and stuff,  and then, I realize that my board support cfX, and well, I haven't build a multi gpu sistem, so I though this could be a good chance.

By the time that 1gb of vram actually makes a difference both the 1060 and 570 processing chips will be too weak to handle it either ways, one of the biggest wastes is the RX 580 8gb, you do not need all those 8gb to play at 1920x1080p and when you might actually need it then the processing chip itself will be to weak to handle whatever game either ways.

Best way to future proof is actually buying something that will perform great TODAY that can be replaced in the future for something new that'll be miles better either ways.

Just giving the tip for a next opportunity of yours, there's a lot more to it than just a higher number.
