You mean this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tdcK6X? I find it handy to look at it on pcpartpicker.

I like your build, great case I got the exact same though not scratch proof.

looks good, however, I would try and see if you can get 16GB of RAM instead of 8

It will drive up the cost a little, but with one stick of 8 you can always add another. It's weird to use a desktop on Wifi, utp cable's are more reliable.

Yeah, I know the WiFi's weird. I'm in the basement which doesn't have any Ethernet ports.

Yeah that was my first thought, if I come up with the money fast enough I might keep saving for the extra 8, but I can always upgrade later. Here's to hoping prices don't keep going up. :)

Will it meet my aforementioned gaming standards?

doesnt the ryzen 5 1600 come with stock cooler. Or do you plan on doing heavier overclocking?

I was doing some research on that and agree. The Wraith Spire can support light overclocking, but knowing me, a few months in I'll get comfortable with it and try to delve a bit deeper. The fan is just for insurance and just in case I don't buy it later due to ANOTHER price jump

The sterotype gamer in the basement? :P

I'm not sure about the storage you picked but ssd's are still pricy so I assume that's why you made that choice.

It's actually pretty furnished down here. But yeah, I was originally thinking a Western Digital 1tb hdd and a 250gb ssd then read about sshd's.

You could also go for a HDD now and add some ssd or even m.2 later, 128gb could be enough depends on your preference. I have a 500GB ssd with my operationsystem and my IDE's for writing code, so I only use like 110Gb :P

This may be a stupid question, but why is the HDD price for 5400 RPM higher than a 7200 also from seagate? Is it because its 2.5" and not 3.5"?

If so, OP may swap out that and maybe add a better PSU

It's because it's not an HDD. A hybrid drive combines solid state storage with a hard disc drive which means that you can get closer to SSD speeds with the storage capacity of an HDD for cheaper. As for the PSU, my expected output according to PCPP is 275w, so it should do just fine.

That's true, it's just that even formulating this plan with the intent of carrying it out has taken a lot of will power. I'm afraid I'll get too satisfied with an HDD if that makes any sense.

It's fine. I wouldn't have been able to tell you the first thing about building a computer a week ago. I just did straight research and looked for advice on forums like these for like 12 twelve hours.
