So there are 4 questions that I would like to ask and I'm going to share my experience of owning an iphone 7 plus for a year. And also recently I got an iPhone 6 Plus. And I'm going to make a bit of comparison between these two phones.

 

1) The anodization thingy

 

So when I got the iPhone 6 Plus, I didn't have a case for it so I used it for around a week without any form of protection for it. What amazed me was how smooth the back is compared to the 7 plus. And it attracted very little fingerprints even after a week of not wiping it. On my 7 Plus, just a touch on the bare metal back ( it's matte black btw ) would leave an obvious fingerprint. And the surface feels stickier compared to the 6 Plus. It might be due to the 6 Plus being 3 years old and some coating was gone. 

 

2) Chipgate ( F*** you Apple )

 

3 months into owning the 7 Plus, the paint around the camera bump started chipping off. When my friends look at the dual cameras they would ask me what happened to it. And I have no freaking idea. The phone would be in a case, except when I take it out to clean it. And as far as I know the camera bump doesn't even touch any surface when I'm using it. Also, the paint on all 4 corners of the phone started peeling off a while later. Like seriously, it's not even covered under warranty and Apple wouldn't admit it's their fault. It's all over the internet and people call it "chipgate". What's wrong with Apple these days.

 

3) iOS 11 ( F***ing with my battery all day )

 

Honestly, iOS 11 may be the worst update ever. It's buggy as f***, and drains my battery by a lot. Way more than iOS 10. It's already like 11.1.2 and the battery draining is still going on. I know, they improved it and it's better than the original iOS 11 update but it's still a lot worse than iOS 10.

 

4) Touch ID  

 

One thing good about the 7 Plus is that it scans my finger faster. But even if my fingers are a bit moist, or there are fingerprints all over the scanner itself, it doesn't work. It's worse on the 6 Plus, just a few smudges and I have to wipe it before I can use it. Anyone having these problems? Some people say it still works after being smudged but not for me. 

 

So that is my experience and sorry for the Long post. I hope someone can answer these questions? Anyone with an iPhone 7 out there? I hope u can share your experiences here too. And those who own other phones but feel like complaining about it, feel free to do so.

I got an iPhone 7 at launch mainly because my old Galaxy S5 died and it has been my daily driver ever since.  I've noticed that iOS 11 makes it a bit... sluggish and the home button had this delay compared to iOS 10 (Classic, Apple). I immediately downgraded to iOS 10 while Apple was still signing it and everything's good now except the occasional annoying notifications asking me to update. TouchID is unreliable and doesn't work like 60% of the time and forces me to enter the password manually. Not too sure about the chipgate or the anodization thing but I've never encountered anything of the sort. I'm not even using a case.

They fixed most of the sluggishness in a few updates prior to the original update. But I would still suggest sticking to iOS 10. I would still refer to iOS 11 as "a fresh pile of shit". And some of the bugs aren't even fixed yet. Hey Siri doesn't even work, as Siri just stops listening to me after it launches. And ffs Apple, fix the battery drain. Also, the chipping thing only seems to happen with matte black.

IVe had an iphone 7 plus in matte black for over a year and the only one i might have experienced was the battery drain with ios 11. 

 

My phone still looks brand new so the paint chip thing isnt an issue, and i use a case maybe 50% of the time. 

 

All in all this phone has way less issues than my previous Samsung, which by this time suffered severe battery and performance issues.
