Difference between the Logitech G35 and G430?

So earlier today my G35 Headset broke but I was satisfied with the quality of it over the past year and a bit. Although I can't quite afford another G35 with the current situation I'm on the hunt for a similar but cheaper headset. Coming across the Logitech G430 I was wanting to know if there was much of a difference in the sound quality? Do they sound just like the G35? Also if you could leave any pros and cons about the Logitech G430 that would be great!

g430 is a cut down, because they had to cut price in order to cater different market ( recession etc)

its same comfy, same sound, but with some less features, buttons etc

 

also sound card is placed differently, you know for surround.

but g35 has sound card built into the headset itself. also there are some buttons to turn your voice in borg and stuff, and programmable buttons and also build in headset itself volume control-g430 has it on a wire

Amazing, just what I wanted to hear! Only feature that's missing from the G430 is the auto mute when you raise the mic! Really satisfied with your fast reply!

Also another question, I have a Asus Xonar D1 PCI 7.1 Soundcard (never unboxed). Would it be best to use this then the USB soundcard it comes with ?

I own a G35, I would say no. I have many complaints about the G35 but audio hiss and problems with audio in google chrome are not problems I have had, nor were they problems with 3 other friends who used to own this headset. If they were fundamentally the same device these problems should carry over. Unless they changed it recently microphone noise cancellation doesn't work on Windows 7 with the G35 an hasn't since launch, look at their forums its full of people complaining with no response from logitech yet the review doesn't mention this with the 430.

 

My honest opinion about Logitech headsets, run very far away from them. Unless you're getting the old Logitech clearchat stereo headset which was like $20-30~ with which I have no complaints about for the price.

go in some store and test whichever pair of 'surround' headset vs similar priced stereo headphones. you will then say sound quality - check
