Oculus Rift vs. HTC Vive

xwboy

Which is better? I'm mostly concerned about game selection, picture quality, controllers, and comfort. If you own one of these systems I'd love to hear your personal review but even if you don't I'd still like to hear your opinion.

Rift owner here:

I have experience with the Vive and picture quality and comfort are the same. I really like the Rift controllers (reason why i bought it over the Vive) as it sits nice in the hand. Roomscale is better on the Vive (better tracking at longer range from the sensors). Game selection is mixed, think of it like PS4 vs Xbox exclusives and timed exclusives, just look at the selection yourself and choose a side.

Good luck.

Thanks for your input, I'll probably end up making my selection based on the games. I've tried the oculus controllers before but never the vive. I'm getting this to share with my family so I'll ask them what types of games they like.

Used both, but I own the Vive and might buy the Rift for Christmas. Honestly, get whichever is in your budget. I prefer the Vive for ease of installation and fitment of the headset and controllers, but you will need to select games with the headset otherwise you're just going to stare at the virtual desktop all day, though I do like playing games through the headset and KB/M at times.

I would recommend Monstrum, Greenwater: Chair in a Room, and Hotdogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades.
