Hey, so, Im helping my teacher change her laptop`s HDD for an SSD, but can you clone the drive (so you dont have to back it up and reinstall Windows from scratch)? And if so, how? Also; im adding another SODIMM to her computer, so it will have 8GB (2 dimms of 4GB each) of RAM in a dual channel config. Well how do you clone it. The SSD that was Selected was a 2.5inch WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD 256 GB. (The 3D NAND  version is made on a new process is way more reliable than past WD SSDs, its 15% faster than last gen and draws 25% less power)

Macrium Reflect. Make a backup of everything and then do a clone.

OH apparently the WD Blue Drive comes with an easy-to-use program to manage and clone drives. BTW, since it`s W10, shouldn`t I reinstall?

Doesn't matter. Cloned drives are the exact same content.

Also, if you reinstall, you'll have to manually backup her settings, chrome user data, favorites, email accounts, microsoft office, any specialized software... you get the picture.

Up to you. I usually clone first and reinstall later if issues arise, which I haven't had many.

Make sure to run a chkdsk /r from CMD.

Hey, is an i5 8600K paired with a Radeon RX 580 8G (SaphireNitro+ Limited/Special Editon) enough for 1440p 60FPS? (i5 8600K because its more of an FPS machine than the Ryzen 5 1600X)

Not enough.  <-- meaning, the RX 580. CPU is fine.

The 8600K is more than enough for high-refresh gaming, but this depends on title versus a blanket statement as some allude to. 8600K is quite a bit better in games vs a 1600.
