Get the MSI LIGHTNING GTX 770. It's insane for the money. Also, I am not personally a fan of the RM PSUs because of the weak secondary caps, therefore I have replaced it with a silver Seasonic. The GRYPHON is an excellent motherboard, maybe even get an armor kit in the future. All around great. And a boot SSD never hurt.

I already have a some part like the hard drives and fans.

the thing that's bothering me is the motherboard, I don't know if I will be overclocking since I'm a little hesitant but i would like a quality motherboard with overclocking potential if I do.

Stuck between the GENE or the GRYPHON motherboard

It is more powerfull and has more VRAM and we are starting to see games use more than 2GB

Not exactly. The R9 280X and GTX 770 butt heads when it comes to performance. The R9 280X shines in some games, while the GTX 770 pulls ahead in others.

The Lightning has a backplate as well along with the GPU Reactor, which helps supply a more steady line of power to the GPU.

Oh yeah, that serves me right for not looking properly. I'll be getting that then also the thermal armor for the gryphon which i think is fantastic. Do you think i need anything else ? I've got about $100 to spare since those parts are cheaper

Thanks for helping me about

No problem :). There doesn't seem to be anything else you need, and you will have coming forth a very good PC. You can use the $100 for a nice keyboard or mouse.

The Corsair RM 650W is a better unit, albeit more expensive.

You might consider a Seasonic G Series 650W 80+ Gold, http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-ssr650rm.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

The thermal armor doesn't really help cool more than it traps heat and prevent dust. Just so you know...

The G 550 is plenty already.

Unless you need the high oc or the looks, the 212 Evo is much cheaper and is plenty for a decent oc. You might want to get lower profile ram as well. the ram you chose is super expensive. There are better 8GB kits of ripjaws ram for $50 on newegg atm.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

Only thing I can see is the memory, why did you choose that RAM specifically? I just bought 8GB on Newegg yesterday for $49.99 @ 1600MHz. And for gaming, per Linus' benchmarks, faster memory increases performance almost negligibly.

Granted, it doesn't matter to me what you spend your money on, just wanted to point out that 8GB can be found for much, much cheaper than $100, that can almost buy you 16GB lol

Awesome bang for your buck build!

I would go with http://www.amazon.com/GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5-GeForce-256-bit-PCI-Express-OC-selected/dp/B00D3F7CFK/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1386691655&sr=8-6&keywords=asus+gtx+780

Just for the fact it's 369! Down from 480 :)

I wouldn't touch ati cards unless they have aftermarket coolers. But if never owned an ATI card.

I find them cards cheaply made

Much more of a green fan anyway :)

I chose it since i already have it in my current build, the only reason i bought it was because i was new to building a pc and thought higher the price the better the pc. stupid i know but how else am i meant to learn haha

lol well there you go. Like I said, it doesn't matter to me what you put into your system, I was just wanting to let you know you can get it for cheaper if you haven't bought it yet, but nevermind!

Other than that, I like the build - same processor, cooler and graphics card I'm getting lol
