Lenovo K410 won't boot past lenovo logo with 750 ti

I even tried to install a 305 watt power supply from another computer in case this 280 watt isn't enough. There is a dual usb 3.0 adapter installed in one of the x1 slots.  Peak load probably wouldn't exceed 250 watts, why won't this computer boot with this graphics card?  Specs are i5-3450, one 7200 rpm hdd, an rgb led, a lot of front panel connection but only one usb port is used.  Thanks.

The minimum requirements for the 750Ti is 300W, so your current configuration is really pushing it. What I would say is unplug all of the in-necessary stuff like the USB adapter, and LEDs, then see if it'll boot properly.

Thanks, I just want to make sure its definitely a power draw issue before doing that because i did try a 305 watt psu too. It stops at lenovo logo screen and beeps every 10 seconds or so.

If it beeps, you may want to refer to Lenovo's beep code list to narrow down the problem.

Okay thanks, I will have to wait until the end of the day to try again to find the code.  I think it's the 1 long and 2 short beep one that means monitor or graphics issue. It's not repeated short beeps which would be power issue so thanks for that POST code list.

That's odd then since the Lenovo logo does display. But yea, double check what beep code the system actually makes. If 1 long and 2 short beeps is the one, then make sure your monitor cables are connected to the GPU, rather than the ports on the back of the motherboard. If you have a spare system, it's not a bad idea to test to see if the GPU is actually functional.
