HyperX Cloud Alphas

Hey all,

 

So I'm focusing in on getting the Clouds but I'm a little bit worried.

 

My only experience with this sort of thing is with the Tritton Pro+ headsets, and I'm worried that the Clouds aren't going to be as good.

 

The Trittons use optical whereas the Clouds are just analogue. Wouldn't this mean that the Trittons are going to sound better? Or do the single drivers of the Clouds make up for it?

 

Should I consider setting up a dac/amp to get the most out of the Clouds? I was thinking the DAC-X6? I mainly use consoles that have optical connections, so just having to change around one cable is useful but not essential. Is the quality going to really be that much of a problem though?

 

A little guidance would be greatly appreciated.

So the sound quality is fine with what setup? The headset plugged into the controller? The TV? I'm a little confused on how everybody gets great sound.

 

I do need the mic option and I can get the Clouds for £70 right now, and I don't wan't to spend more really.

my original clouds sound fine on my S7 or motherboard or anything

Interesting. Thanks for your insight. I really should try the Clouds our first so I have some reference. It's really tricky to make any decisions

 

I still feel running the headset through something that's not an Xbox controller is going to be better. I've no idea really though.
