Sluggish and Buggy Windows

I'm posting this in the operating system section because my computer is flipping out on windows and I don't know if it's due to a part or not.

 

 

On that note... I come home and turn on my computer to start some work. The start menu and search windows options take a very long time to pull up. The programs don't function or respond. I try restarting multiple times, but the same thing happens. The third restart even gave me a frozen black screen with a moving mouse cursor. Any ideas on the cause?

When was the last time you did a clean install, and remove all the unwanted stuff.

 

Do a backup of major files, like movie,pictures, school project.......

I never do those.

The thing is, the problem has occurred twice. Each time it resolves itself(after 15 minutes of outrage), but I don't know when the last time it happens will be.
