I bought an Asus RX580 a few days ago and it works great in Linux, but I was wondering whether someone here has successfully OC'ed one in Linux?

i don't think something like afterburner exists for linux - but it would be nice if it does

I was hoping someone had done it already with this card :(

Gaming has improved a lot and there are more games available now also thanks to Steam. I play quite a few games, including Tomb Raider, Dirt Rally, F1, CSGO, PES 2017 (via Wine), and others... Not the latest games as I haven't purchased any more recent ones, but I am sure they would run decently if they are available for Linux.

Just google some. It seems that it is possible, but not very user friendly.
