Im getting extremely vexed by the developments of these past few days and I need your help. Ever since I've gotten Windows 10, Ive been plagued with ping over 999, packet loss, and more network issues. Ive set windows to metred connection and still I get this. Is there any way to isolate network traffic directly to my game and only my game, and restrict network usage for anything else?

Any help is appreciated, from simple settings to registry tweaks.

Thank you

I would first try reinstalling the network drivers. Then if that doesn't help, reinstall Windows.

Open task manager and go to the Networking tab and check what your connection is at. Check windows update to make sure its not running all the time. (I find that after a fresh install sometimes it will run for quite a while hogging bandwidth to update everything it can.)

Check in your task bar tray for programs that might be open that are hogging bandwidth,

Check games you have downloaded and make sure they are set to update only at night or only when you open them,

Also Check any game launchers you may have installed and make sure they are set to not run automatically when you start your pc and also set to update only at night or manually. (My.com launcher as an example has a massive bandwidth hogging problem even if its just open, never mind actually updating)

Reinstall drivers etc.

Check other devices on your network and make sure they aren't constantly updating and are set to update at night or different times from each other.

Also metered connection is not the problem and activating it may cause more problems.  Why have activated it ?
