Hello,

today I installed the update for windows which has been rolling out gradually starting from october. I didn't know it was the Fall creators update, I just thought it was a regular update. Though, I now wish I knew what it was and knew how awful it is, because it is. I only recently got into PC building and PC gaming because of the prices of newer concoles (looking at you Xbox One X ¬_¬) are getting higher and higher. The games I play currently do not require heavy graphics, although I will invest in a graphics card at some point soon. My PC is based on an Intel Pentium G4560. I don't have a dedicated monitor yet either. Instead, I use a tv. A Samsung EH5300 Series, more specific. I connected my PC to my TV through HDMI, used the Screen Fit option on the adjustment menu of the TV to make the screen fit, running at 1920x1080 60Hz, which did have some lag though but it all worked just fine. Up until this Fall Creators update, that is. I now see half a screen on my TV, which suddenly also no longer runs at 1920x1080 60Hz, but 1440x900 75Hz. I can see the top of the Start Menu when I press the windows button, to give an indication of how much screen I have left. I also can no longer use the Screen Fit option on my TV.

It wasn't the most ideal situation, but it kept me from having to use a 30 by 30cm screen that I have laying around.

If anyone has a solution of how I possibly could get my screen to fit again, please let me know.

Kind regards

Wolf
