Call Clarity Question

I have a Nexus 4 and I was wondering if I upgraded to the Pixel 2 it would have better call quality. I want to be able to hear people clearly as some people I have trouble understanding and I'm not sure if changing my phone would make a difference. Would changing networks do anything if it's not fuzzy or anything or is it all the phone?
