Windows Messing with Audio sources

So every now an then I will have to disable the speakers for my monitors and I never re-enable it but something does. I'm not sure whats doing it but it seems like its something with Windows but I'm not sure. I have a Sennheiser GSX 1000 and run all my sound through it. Every time things change I go an disable it. Any thoughts or ideas?

Right click on the sound icon and select Playback Devices. Then, change the Default playback device to one that you prefer.

I do that, I follow up by disabling the devices I don’t want. A week or so later it, reenables those devices and sets them to default. So the issue is to stop this from happening.
