Overclock of a amd fx6300

OK I have a amd FX6300 and I wanna overclock it but I don't know how. My motherboard is a Asus m5a78l-m, i have a 8gb stick of ddr3 memory from Kingston in this case its the hyperx series which I want to to overclock as well. For cooling I'm using a hyper 212x. And temperature is 50°c (120°f) with a prime95 stress test of 1 hour and the motherboard temp is 34°c(93°F)

Go to BIOS, increase the multiplier until it becomes unstable, increase voltage until it becomes stable, repeat.

You also need to be monitoring temperatures whilst doing this. Also, define "unstable." Overclocks can work great in many applications, and then just randomly fail in one task.

Asus has AI Suite that lets you overclock while you're in windows and from experience it's pretty good, you will have to reapply the overclock every time you restart the PC though

OK but I don't wanna overclock too much around 4.5ghz. Nothing much. Some people overclock it to 5ghz but I don't need that much, and I don't have the best cooling for it.

But does it work with all motherboards?
