What upcoming technologies are you excited for? Which ones are you going to adopt?

Thoughts on the new Mac Pro? How does it compare in your opinion to a SFF Windows machine?

What is your opinion on Mantle?

Honestly I think that Mantle will fail unless nVidia is able to support it (through licensing, or something). Since it's an entirely new graphics API it produces a huge overhead to developers to support it and companies are not going to put in the time and effort to apply it just to support a limited set of systems. The fact that console is AMD really gives it a fair chance of succeeding but as I understand it Mantle wont even be supported on the consoles (from what I've read). I think it will become a gimmick like Physx despite it having literally tons of potential. The biggest thing I'm worried about is that nVidia will try to create a close to bare metal API like mantle itself and try to take a part of the market and the tug of war will create a split in games that support one vs. the other and nobody wins.

Honestly you seem like a complete bad ass. Haha well I am glad you are here I am Sean. I am a little 14 year old that blows all my cash on PC's :P Want to get a printer next. I have like 700 dollars so far.

Edit: I just saw your RoBo 3D unboxing and was wondering if thats good. All I want to do is make some fun stuff and fool around with it speed it not key :P

To be honest the Robo3D has had a fair share of problems. The print head on it failed and I'm not the only one that has had the problem. Yesterday I installed an E3D solid aluminum print head with active cooling and also wired up some LED's and I'm printing some other upgrades on my Ultimaker for it right now and then I'll test it again but from what I can figure if you purchase the cheaper PLA version of the ROBO which is $100 cheaper and then buy the E3D print head for about $100 you will end up with a very capable machine. Keep an eye on my channel for Robo3D videos they should start coming out at the end of this week if nothing else goes wrong.

Hey dude. Big fan, just wondering, how well can you read text from that 2.5K monitor on top of your setup? I'm considering getting one for my battlestation and Want to know how useful it actually is.

I can read the text just fine but I have 20/15 vision :P Most of the stuff I put on it is large blocks of text.

The biggest technology I'm excited for is the RIFT hands down and I'm hoping and praying they will ship a 4k version at launch (fingers crossed). I'm really mad at nVidia right now and there driver problems with Windows 8.1 so I might be switching to AMD if this LiteCoin shenanigans ever stops driving the price of cards through the roof.

As for the Mac Pro I could not be more disappointed in Apple right now. ever since Steve Jobs died it seems like the company is making bad decisions. Making a computer that looks like a trash can no matter how well it works is a bad idea IMO. Honestly the price vs. performance in my opinion. Sure the size of the unit is very small and compact and if that is important and you can hind it behind a bad of chips it's fine. But it's not my cup of tea!

The biggest technology I'm excited for is the RIFT hands down.

how about the Avegant virtual reality headset or even the castAR, theres lots of vr related things coming out, there was one more thing that tracks your movement to be paired with the castar i think.. so that you could create virtual maps and objects to show up in the real world.

all these gadgets and equipment are fun/cool and all, but honestly .. all this stuff is just going to be alot of hassle and things i won't be bothered with using, certainly not on a regular basis .. but i am going to buy the oculus rift though.
