Can i trust userbenchmark for choosing a gpu for my build?

On the results there, the gtx 770 is moderately better than a 1050ti in most ways and I could get a used one around my area for less than half the price of a 1050ti. However, my friend who has slightly more knowledge and experience in pc's than I do, says that the 770 over a 1050ti isn't a good idea.

it gives you a rough idea of relative performance, the 770 draws a load more power and is less up to date if you care about NVIDIA features that i personaly never use. the 770 is going to perform about the same, you probably wont notice much of a difference, but try to find some benchmarks beyond userbenchmark because it cant really be trusted beyond a rough number

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

Thanks, I was planning to get a psu good for the next few years of upgrading anyway and i'll look into other results for the card but for half the price of the 1050ti, I don't think ill be able to resist the value even if it is sightly worse

yah if its half the price its better value, look for GTX 680s too though because they are the same GPU core

It's more or less accurate when it comes to performance. That sounds like a great deal on a 770
