So basically I have had the asus swift pg278q for about 2 months now and just recently 2 dead pixels have appeared 1 being very annying in the middle of the screen at eye level.

Accrding to asus you need atleast 5 dead pixels for it to become unacceptable however there is another issue, every now and then after closing a game I get the glitch as seen on the right hand side of the screen in the attached picture. this will go away after restarting the screen.  Im assuming this is a big enough issue to get a replacement so this is the question.

Is it worth the hassle with Asus? From what I have read is it likely to get a second hand monitor back? Will it have worse backlight bleeding or will it have even more deadpixles ?

From what I have read the customer support with asus is terrible. Is it worth just living with what I Have?

Regards

Id say decide if it bothers you enough to RMA.

If you do make sure you have enough evidence to show them what is wrong because if you send them a screen and they test 1 game and it works fine or they don't think 2 dead pixels are enough you will probably just get the same screen sent back in the same condition. Take photos of the dead pixels (there are websites to find it) and take a video or 2 of the "glitch" it has and then get in contact with the multiple issues it has.

You might get a refurbished unit back but it will probably be in a near 100% state if not 100% the only reason its called refurbed is cause they legally cannot sell it as new *shrugs*

and lastly get in contact with Asus and start the RMA process describing the issue in as much detail as possible with the evidence attached.

PS. I would have it RMAed cause its basically still brand new (I RMAed a Corsair strafe RGB because one of the LEDs didn't display the right colors :P )

It's hard to see on that screen, use a proper dead pixel test set of pictures to determine where the stuck/dead pixels are.

regarding the screen glitch I get the same one on my pg279q. same thing happens. and sometimes my monitor kind of splits. there is a line in the middle like the desktop is made out of two wallpapers, like a folded sheet of paper. at this point I;. not entirely sure that a hardware issue. didn't investigate further but I would guess it's a software issue from NVidia, don't quote me on that.
