no boot device found

Go to solution Solved by Creed1,

Can you see it from the boot priority menu by any chance?  If not, its either a loose connection or dead drive. Any problems prior to this incident?

What I recommend you can do now is take the HDD, pull the files you need from it, and re-install windows from scratch.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

just opened it up... no hard drive

Well then, that's interesting. You could probably put a nice 1tb 7200RPM laptop hard drive in it and install a fresh copy of windows.
