You need to overclock the 1600 right off the bat. The stock 3.2GHz clock is awful.

IMO, your gaming experience would be much better if you cut the ram to 8gb, went with the 3gb version of the 1060, and invested those dollars into a good speaker system instead of a cheap one.  you'd only lose 5-10 frames but you'd gain a much more immersive experience

PC Build: R5-1600.  Scythe Mugen 5.  GTX 1060.  120 GB SSD.  1 TB HDD.  FDD Mini C.  8 GB RAM (3000 MHz).  Be Quiet Pure Wings 2.  Capstone-550.  Deepcool 350 RGB.

Peripherals: Qisan Magicforce (80%) w/ Gateron Blues.  Razer Naga Chroma.  Lenovo 24" 1440p IPS.  PS4 Controller.

Audio: Focusrite (Solo, 2nd), SM57, Triton Fethead, AKG c214, Sennheiser HD598's, ATH-M50x, AKG K240, Novation Launchkey

Wishlist: MP S-87, iPad, Yamaha HS5's, more storage

gaming doesn't really need more than 8gb of ram.  (if you do need 16, you can always upgrade, but dont waste the money)

gtx 1060 6gb is a good card, but 3gb is a much better value for your dollar and the 6gb version is only slightly better

buy a better speaker system.

The prices of the 6GB model (depending on the vendor) is roughly £40, that's a fairly small price to pay for additional CUDA cores and double memory.

double memory sounds like alot, but for heavy 1080p gaming and light 1440p gaming (which is what the card is for), 3gb memory is perfectly fine.

tests ive seen have shown like a 1-5 frame improvement at most usually.  meh

He would be much better off going with a 1070 with 8 GB of RAM. I ran 8 GB for quite a few years. It can handle multitasking very well. Never once did I go over 6 GB used even while watching YT, gaming and listening to music at the same time.

No. I don't know why you find this funny. 8 GB of RAM is all that is needed for gaming in 2017 at 1080p.

very true, they really don't know their stuff

I'm gonna be honest i dont know the differences between what u guys are discussing... As i said i've never done this before and i dont know much about all the different parts... Generally i'm want to play games with good graphics.

So my biggest worry was if the list was compatible with each other, but that is not a problem if i read your responses.

The main issue is the 8GB vs the 16GB right? I dont know the difference to be honest... So what to choose and why?

Overall tho, looking at this list. Would all this work?

Again, just like art, it's subjective and relative. In this case, the correct answer would be OP's intended usage. The reason why I suggested (and personally chose) 16GB as apposed to 8GB, was my intended usage. Gaming, graphics work, video editing and audio production as well as knowing there's always more RAM on tap so I'm never left with hardware limitations.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.95GHz [1.365v] // Mobo: ASRock B350 Pro4 // GPU: EVGA GTX1070 8GB SC Black Edition

Case: NZXT S340 Elite // Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 // RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 16GB 3066MHz // Misc: NZXT Hue+

Storage: WD Green 120GB M.2, SK HyniX 250GB SSD, Samsung Evo 250GB SSD, Seagate 3TB 7200RPM // PSU: Corsair RM750X

CPU-Z Validation // Userbenchmark // PC Part Picker

The best way to decide is what is your budget? Also I think 8Gb is definetley good enough for something like a 1060
