bitdefender using 100% disk for 20 mins

so i want to play a game but bitdefender is using 100% disk for 20 mins already any reason why? updating? shouldn't take that long right?

maybe it's just doing its stuff.. like checking fore viruses or sth.. It's going through your data.. I think that's what it does. 

Even tho disc activity might be 100%, its max read speed might actually not be reached in any moment.

so yesterday it was fine but boot up times got really slow all of a sudden and uninstalled bitdefender disk usage was fine after that but reinstalled it again and now it using 100% disk again and it's almost using 1.4gigs of ram for over 1 hour what the heck is wrong ;_;

You can just kill the program with task manager, disable it from start up. I only have my antivirus software working when I want it to. That means when I start it not when it wants to
