Uninstalling Old drivers?

If i'm updating my GPU from a nvidia 750 to an 1070 or an 1080, do I need to uninstall old drivers before plugging in the new card? Or can I just install the new card and select the option to clean install new drivers when there is an update?

 

There are different opinions when I googled this, some say the gpu will be messed up if the drivers are not removed first, other say it is perfectly fine

You will find a ton of opinions here on this.

Lots will say to use a driver uninstaller.

I've been in computers for a very long time, and the only issue I've ever had was switching from ATI to nVidia. Beyond that, the new nVidia drivers uninstall the old drivers rather nicely.

This is dead easy all you need to do is DDU in Safe Mode and done all drivers wiped out, then just sit the brand new graphics card it will run off Microsoft's basic display driver until you install the latest nVidia driver.
