HyperX Alloy vs. G810

yes i'm being a dummy again and doing another comparison

imo the hyperx alloy looks really nice without the red led on but i kind of want a keyboard with cherry switches.

i also kind of want a logitech keyboard to compliment my G703, which would you prefer?

G810 gets my vote. 

 

What's the price difference and what kind of switch?

Why only the two? Between them, I prefer the Logitech G810 (though I like Logi and their products a lot, so that's obvious). Romer-G switches feel like slightly shallow Cherry MX Reds. But Corsair and Cooler Master also offer MX RGB keyboards, and CUE is objectively better than Logitech Gaming Software from a customization standpoint.

Well, I heard the CUE software is hard to use, because I only like the older Corsair models.

But these 2 are all that I prefer

100$ for the G810

94$ for the FPS

I'll probably get browns for the FPS if I end up buying it

@Fooshi In my opinion, the G810 looks more aesthetically pleasing, but are the Romer-Gs good for typing?

G810 is better then. LGS is easier to control, in my opinion, when it comes to switching between profiles dynamically.

I would never pick kingston over Logitech, gotta admit their peripherals are awesome while kingston is just a shady company that baits youtubers with golden samples of the shitty products they sell

@Princess Cadence I bought a Cloud Stinger today, I wouldn't say they're bad products.

Also, I tested the feel of the HyperX FPS. Felt really good.

The G810 looks really nice, I have to agree but I didn't really have a taste for the feeling or sound of it.  I haven't had my hands on the Alloy but friends have told be it feels sort of like Razers X lineup and Corsairs K65/70/95 lineup (all of which I have used) so I have a general sense of how it must feel (it should be pretty good).  I'd prefer the robust aluminium construction of the Alloy over the plastic G810.

@Qyndryx Also, I haven't sounded or tried the G810 and all the tech stores near me don't have one on display that I can try. That's the problem, they only display the G910 Spectrum/Spark

The G910 uses the same switch. You're only missing out on the wrist rest, macros, and the extra 100 G's...

Between the G810 and G910? No, the switches are the same. The main difference is the board's outer shape and some of the features I gave above.

I have the HyperX Alloy FPS, and I love it. I haven't tried the g810 tho.

@Phantonex Alright, cool. I've been considering it, but I kind of want the G810 to match my G703.

Hard choice

I've had a type on both; personally I prefer the HyperX Alloy although I will say that the lighting on the G810 is vastly superior (if that's your thing); the Alloy only does red and kind of has lighting at the top of the key and none on the secondary functions below (e.g. in the number row).  This is a feature of Cherry MX lighting vs Romer G of course (where Romer G's light is right in the middle).

 

That said, I find Romer Gs to be "mushier" than most Cherry switches, and I think you get more choice in how you want it to feel with Cherries.

 

I also think the Alloy is a much better looking board.
