iPhone X SIM card

I got a new iPhone X and I don't know if I have to put the SIM card from my 5c into the new phone. The X can take calls but the 5c can't. Do I still have to put the new SIM card in?

Of course you have to put the new sim into the iPhone X.

wait , did you get it with a service provider ? if so they probably put it in there already. when I worked at apple , we were obligated to open the phone with the Customer and put a sim in there with them.

I got it from Verizon, the sim from my old phone doesn't work.

You'll need a nano sim, 5c used micro sims I think. Verizon can probably give you one for free, they're free here in Ireland
