Hey everyone!

I'm having this problem since a few days. I have a brand new build which I you can find at the end of this post.

The problem is I'm hearing small crackles when,

  • I turn the volume up or down in various websites while watching a video (or while listening to a track in SoundCloud)
  • When I close the browser during a video (or during a track in SoundCloud)
  • When I want to skip through a video (or through a track in SoundCloud)
  • Sometimes during a Windows 10 notification.

NOTE: It doesn't happen when audio is playing, it happens when I do the stuff above.

The crackles are small but I can hear them clearly when I'm using a headset. I have checked DPC Latency during those crackles, I see no extreme stuff in there. I do not know what to do. I've updated my BIOS, updated my audio drivers, updated my headset drivers. Literally EVERYTHING is up-to-date. I'm scared of it being a hardware thing because the build is really new. Here are the specs:

  • OS: Windows 10 (with FCU)
  • Motherboard: MSI Z370-A PRO
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K @ 3.7GHz (Coffee Lake, Hexa Core, LGA 1151-V.2)
  • CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series™ H40 Liquid CPU Cooler
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX - Red 16GB (2 x 8GB) C15 DDR4 3000MHz
  • Storage: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD + Western Digital Blue 7200 RPM 1 TB HDD
  • GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING X 6GB GDDR5 192Bit DX12
  • Power Supply: Corsair TX750M 750W (80+ Gold)
  • Headset: SteelSeries Arctis 5 7.1
