Comparing specific CPUs

I have 2 CPUs, and am trying to decide which to use.

First off is an Intel i5-750. The other is an AMD X4-750K. 
I will be using this system as a Steam Box/HTPC. This will be a second PC, as my primary is much beefier.

I'd go with the Intel chip myself.

I don't know much about low end cpus, but it seems to be the case that's where AMD does the best.

i would go with the intel and the 750k is just a a8-5800k apu without integrated graphics right.

You're probably looking at a used i5 750, if you can get a good mobo to go with i then by all means go grab it.
An option that is by far better than both is to go with a micro atx motherboard and an FX 6300.

The i5 750 is faster but it also runs hotter and you will have to get it used and pare it with a used motherboard which compounds the risk.
Get an FX 6300 with a Gigabyte 78LMT which is an mATX motherboard, it will go nicely with a Prodigy M.
