i would go with the intel and the 750k is just a a8-5800k apu without integrated graphics right.

The i5 750 is faster but it also runs hotter and you will have to get it used and pare it with a used motherboard which compounds the risk.
Get an FX 6300 with a Gigabyte 78LMT which is an mATX motherboard, it will go nicely with a Prodigy M.
