Just saw the FP update where Linus turned on his phase change chiller...... And I've had this in the back of my mind for many years.  I work in HVAC and even have a 3ton or so A/C unit in my garage that isn't being used............

The possibilities.........

I even have countless aquarium pumps.................

I may just need to set up a table-O-crazy in my garden level basement and hook that sucker up just outside.  Probably won't because I work to much and I'm lazy, but I haz the way to do the things!

But a glycol loop would be fun!

You know what's be pretty cool to do?

Compressed air.

Exotic cooling, yes.

Air cooling? Also yes.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

lol, I don't even know if my project makes the sense and I seriously doubt I would devote the time and the space in my basement to do it, but I like thinking about how crazy it would be.

edit: Giant tub of glycol with an evaporator coil in it..... piped outside to a condensing unit......... aquarium pump to a test bench!!! I can even put the thing next to my breaker circiut. GLORIOUS! Ehrmahgerd I don't have that much enthusiasm, still funny.  Wouldn't even cost anything other than the electricity to run it.

Use it to cool a celeron D and see how far you can OC it.

Actually it'll probably be on a Pentium 820d

only have two desktops left of my own and not going to Frankenstein one of them to the wall of my basement.  I'd have to pull up that pentium and squeeze that batch like a little piggy.  Not to mention something is going to break in the process so might as well be that.

All in it would be for shitz and gigz and I'm not that dedicated to a good laugh.  Would make for some hella B-roll though.  Still if I'm going to install central air it won't be hooked up to a computer.
