New Build for High School

Hello forums !

I few weeks ago started high school (Our school starts at October 22nd and I am 15 years old at this moment) and teachers told half of our class that we need new PC's ASAP (Idk what got into them but school doesn't have enough money to fund all of the pupils). Our IT teacher told me that I need a new system cause I am gonna work in heavy virtualization and networking environment and also a lot of CAD, video and photo editing.

Now my PC is rocking right now :

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T

12 GB RAM

GTX 690

I've collected $1000 this year and I want my PC to fill these requirements :
1. Compatibility with FreeSync monitor (Got it a year ago)

2. A lot of cores and threads

3. I can play some games on it (I am mostly playing PUBG, Dead by Daylight, Rust, The Forest, AoE 2 HD Edition....)

4. To have enough power to run a Windows VM (I am using Ubuntu 14.04 right now and I will use it on my new system also, I've grown up on Linux and when I got into PC gaming I created 1 VM for games that I play)

NOTE : Do not add hard drives neither SSD and PSU cause my dad gave to me few days ago when he got Xeon workstation (He went from sh**ty FX-8370)

if your doing a lot go virtualization i would get something with that can handle a lot of threads like a R1600 (6 core/ 12 threads). AMD doesn't have very good VM support though with things like VMware but hyper V should work OK on it I think.

You can't just use US PCPP, as the prices will vary from where OP lives. The currency is also wrong.

I already have hard drives (2 SSD's : Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB and Patriot Blast 240 GB) and I am trying to avoid Gigabyte's motherboards due to Linux driver compatibility issues with Ryzen platform and also is RX 580 8 GB worth getting cause I have freesync IPS display and I am planning to mine bitcoin (with Block Chain driver) so I can buy myself things I want. I will also to remember defiently overclock. Just who are wondering which Linux I am planning to use; Its Red Hat Enterprise cause my dad can get it for free. I apprectiate the suggestion.

I don't know how Ryzen support has improved on Linux. $1000 is ~€850, so I went for around that. I used German PCPP, but as Croatia is in the EU, I think you won't have to pay import taxes? I'm fairly sure Amazon De and Mindfactory ship to Croatia, just with some added shipping cost. If you have to reduce the price, change the CPU to the 1600.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz 8-Core Processor  (€295.94 @ Mindfactory)

Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory  (€152.56 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Video Card: Sapphire - Radeon RX 580 4GB NITRO+ Video Card  (€263.99 @ Amazon Deutschland)
Case: Phanteks - Eclipse P300 Tempered Glass ATX Mid Tower Case  (€59.90 @ Caseking)

I never trust shipping and I always shop locally. That is just what I was looking for. Also question which difference is between 4 GB and 8 GB except VRAM cause I am not changing system until I don't finish college and I don't wanna have any regrets on this PC and I plan to overclock that 8-core monster so which liquid cooler is way to go ?

There is no difference between the 4GB and 8GB versions of the RX 580, except for just that. With the 580 at 1080p, you shouldn't run out of space when gaming.

If you'll overclock the 1700 with a decent cooler, you'll have to get a better motherboard. Otherwise the VRMs will get  too hot. Something X370 Prime Pro, X370 Strix, X370 Gaming 5 or K7 or Taichi. That will drive up the price with ~€50-80, and adding a decent AiO will add another ~€80-150. Since I don't think 120/140/240mm AiOs make sense, I'll recommend some decent air coolers: Be Quiet Dark Rock 3, Noctua NH-U12S/U14S/D15, and Cryorig H7, H5 and R1. If you're absolutely set on an AiO, there's the H110i, H115i and X62. But only get one of the coolers I suggested if you'll also change the motherboard

I am gonna sell my old rig for 300 euros (without PSU, ssds), so if this is good then I will go with this cause I am getting parts this week, teachers are f*cking mad cause we can't do our homework, I mean I can but it takes 6 hours to render everything and to ready VM :D

Is this good :

Are those the components that you'll buy locally?

Don't get 120mm AiOs, they are silly. Something like the Dark Rock 3 or Cryorig H5 will outperform it by a significant margin, while being more reliable, quieter and costing the same.

Dark Rock 3 neither Cryorig and Noctua are not avaliable locally and if I order online price goes 50% up to all taxes.
