Hi,

So a few days ago my CPU started behaving abnormally. It began by idling at 40Ish degrees, where it would normally idle at 25. I tried running Prime95 and it jumped immediately up to 90 Degrees, so I turned it on and ordered new parts.
One new CPU Cooler and Power supply it's occasionally idling at 25 but is heating up far too quickly. I've checked the mounting of the cooler and there is ample Thermal paste but it's still getting hot. Any ideas?

For reference -
Intel i7 4770K
MSI Gaming 3 Z97 Motherboard
Coolermaster 212 Cooler

Are you overclocking? And How are you applying thermal paste? If you can send pics.

No, it's running stock. The coolers on now but basically just a boiled grain of rice.

What thermal compound are you using?

Arctic MX-2 I believe.

Try making a X And make sure everything is plugged in. And Is there dust on the cooler?

I've had a check, everything's in. I've been into the BIOS and put the fans on 100% as well with no prevail. It's a brand new cooler so it's clean, as is the rest of the system.
